NFi Studios Hosts the "MyTLA" area to Preview New Website/Community at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference

Texas Library Association’s (TLA) Annual Conference is always the talk of the town this week!  This exciting event will be held in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market Street, April 14-17th

This year NFi Studios will host the "MyTLA" area to introduce members to the new website and community, which is similar to a social media cafe.   Also, I have the honor of coming in early to the conference and meeting with the TLA Board of Directors to discuss how the new website and community will help enhance the member experience, and recruit new members to all the unique benefits of a membership.

TLA is the largest state library association in the U.S. Its 7,000+  members are employed in all types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special). TLA's membership also includes library vendors and citizens who support libraries as trustees, members of Friends of the Library organizations, and library users.

TLA exists to serve libraries and librarians in Texas. In fulfilling its mission, TLA also benefits the people of Texas. The Texas Library Association was established in 1902 to promote, support, and improve library services in Texas. TLA policy is set by a governing Council of elected leaders and is implemented by a board of directors (TLA Executive Board) and staff. Various membership committees and units – divisions, round tables, interest groups, and districts – carry out the work of the Association.

A few of the conference speakers include:

  • Journalist Scott Simon, host of National Public Radio’s Weekend Edition and winner of the Peabody Award, Emmys, and countless other commendations, is one of the most recognized and respected voices in journalism today
  • New York Times bestselling writer Adriana Trigiani is an international sensation with fans across the globe. Her Big Stone Gap series and numerous other works are deliciously funny and heartwarming.
  • Amy Wilson, the author and performer of the popular one-woman show Mother Load, is a contributing editor to Parenting magazine and is interviewed frequently in the New York Times and on CNN for her mothering perspective.

Take a look at TLA’s other featured speakers

Please track us down at the Conference, as myself, Elizabeth Baranik (Marketing Director) and Daniel Smith (Director of Development) will be in attendance.  Come and introduce yourself.  We look forward to meeting and greeting you at TLA!
