Using Wordle Creatively for Meetings
Have you used Wordle yet? Created by Jonathan Feinberg while working for IBM Research, Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
Originally designed to give pleasure, Wordle is being used in interesting ways to provide compelling summaries of political speeches, blog posts, twitter feeds, news articles and more. You now see Wordles being used everywhere on blogs or other websites. Wordle is currently ranked joint 33 in this year's Top 100 Tools for Learning.
Recently, NFi Studios client, IBAT (Independent Bankers Association of Texas), used Wordle inputting social media buzz words to create signage around their Social Technology Lounge.
