2009 NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference

The 2009 Nonprofit Technology Conference will take place Sunday, April 26 through Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Hilton, in San Francisco, California. NTEN is a membership organization of nonprofit professionals who put technology to use for their causes. NTEN is where the Nonprofit Technology Community meets. NTEN connects its members to the resources they need to use technology effectively -- while keeping in mind the importance of having fun in the process of creating change. While it's unclear what the future holds, one thing is certain: the need for our services will be greater than we've ever known. Now, more than ever, nonprofits need to invest in technology to create efficiencies that increase our effectiveness. NTEN facilitates the exchange of knowledge and information within their community.

"We Want Usability (But We Don't Want Ugly): Marrying the Best of Design and Usability". Stephen Love of Northridge Interactive will tackle this topic at his NTC session. The world of technology is changing so quickly, the laws that govern intellectual property can barely keep up. There's more content than ever before -- and more confusion about how we can use it. Brian Rowe has put together a great panel at the 2009 NTC, "Fair Use, User Generated Content, Terms of Service and the DMCA Safe Harbor Act". The bottom line is, if you're working in social media, you can't afford to miss this session.

At NTC's past, we've highlighted new nonprofit tech projects in what we called the Innovation Plaza. This year, we're going to try something new to show off all the amazing work you do: we're giving you the spotlight in the form of Ignite Sessions. Check out the participants! Also, at this NTC, special attention will be given to the tools and strategies that are reshaping how we go about doing our work, by empowering our clients and stakeholders.

The 2009 NTC has sold out! They had 1330 spots for the conference this year, and they are all taken. If you didn't get a seat, don't fret. You can add yourself the wait list, and as spots open up we'll take care of you. And if that doesn't work out, we'll be doing some live streaming from the show. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

Congratulations for your sell out NTEN! NFi will not be attending this year, but we offer our complete support for all you do and the enormous effort put into your 2009 NTEN Conference. As always, feel free to leave a comment or question.
