Yesterday, there was another doterati event - this time a breakfast for showcasing creative online branding strategies. The event named, BrandFlakes: Online Creative Approaches was held at a hotel downtown. Great crowd of people and many new faces!

The use of Social Networks, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Flickr and My Space have become almost common place in both the personal and professional business arenas.  Best practices using social media are developing rapidly .. and now, when preparing for an event, or even moreso, during an event, social media is quickly becoming a popular and evidently, beneficial strategy.

Ignite Orlando is a free local event often held during a weeknight. Ignite Orlando brings together artists, geeks, entrepreneurs, academics and others to network with a twist. “If you had five minutes to talk to Orlando on stage, what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.

Social Media Policy

There is a lot of discussion these days about privacy in the workplace, which leads us to the topic of a companies’ need for social media policy .. or at the very least preliminary guidelines that effectively turn into policy. Technology today incorporates the tendency to make public information or misinformation about your product or company.  These are slippery issues that must be addressed with your employees and made clear to those who access your site.
