Mike was born in Chicago but spent most of his life in Virginia and Florida. While attending Virginia Tech he worked as a freelancer for several departments and small political organizations. During this time he discovered a passion for programming and software development. Mike has worked with a smorgasbord of industries including jewelers, higher education institutions, tourism, biotechnologists, manufacturing, and congressionally-funded non-profits.
Mike's love for programming stems from two things: an analytical-mind and that fact he is incredibly lazy. Writing software which effectivly decreases the amount of effort required to accomplish any given task is his drive in life. He places special emphasis on proper best-practice architecture, performance, and modularity.
I love sports of all types but there will always be a special place in my heart for the loveable losers.
My musical flavor of the month. Girl Talk is an artist who specializes in mashup/remix of popular music samples.
I try to go rafting atleast twice a year somewhere in Appalachia. My dream is to get out west sometime soon and hit the real scary stuff.
