Systems Engineer

Orlando, Florida based leader in providing web technologies connecting industry and member communities, is seeking a talented, bright and eager Systems Engineer.  Are you excited by the challenge of scaling web based systems to meet a rapidly increasing amount of traffic and data? The Systems Engineer position will provide you just that.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the planning and engineering of the systems infrastructure behind the SaaS based Social CRM products the company produces, including the implementation and design of hardware and software platforms as well as monitoring the performance of these systems.  This position will focus on application stability, security, performance, capacity management, new software releases, system upgrades, patch evaluation and installation and documentation.  The Systems Engineer will work closely with the software development teams to assess the needs of the systems and ensure the stability of the platform as usage continues to scale.

You will:

  • Report to the Chief Technology Officer
  • Work closely with the Director of Development and the Development teams
  • Implement open source and proprietary technologies to effectively host and scale the company's SaaS software.
  • Manage and maintain servers in the hosting infrastructure
  • Monitor all systems (web servers, DB servers, load balancers, etc.) for performance and uptime
  • Design system infrastructure that can quickly scale
  • Need to be on call after hours rotating with other team members

Necessary skills:

  • Linux AND Windows administration experience required.
  • Apache administration and tuning
  • MySQL administration
  • MySQL Database replication experience (Master/Master & Master/Slave)
  • Understanding of internet standards such as HTTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, HTML, XML, SNP, SSL
  • PCI Compliance knowledge
  • Network hardware architecture including load balancing (Nginx)
  • Knowledge of how to configure HA environments
  • Expert use of monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with virtualization and cloud based computing

PHP Developer

User Experience (UX) Team Lead

NFi Studios, a SaaS product (Software as a Service) company, is experiencing substantial growth and looking for a User Experience (UX) Team leader. This person will both produce and oversee the quality of product user-interface design and front-end buildout. This person must have great organizational/leadership skills, be self-motivated and eager to learn. 

As the UX Team Lead you will focus on bringing out the best of your team so that they can bring simple, elegant, and friendly experiences to light. Your team will consist of visual designers and front-end developers. Your team will depend upon you to refine product requirements, review wireframes, maintain cross-product consistency, and to ensure that we provide a meaningful experience to our product users. Your focus will be knowing how to build a multi-functional team that works well together, while still designing and producing within the team. This role is one of both production and lead.

 

Responsibilities 

 

* Leads User Experience team comprised of designers and front-end developers to accomplish product requirements

* Works as a part of the User Experience team to produce product interface designs and assists in front-end design buildout

* Works with NFi Product Manager, President and CTO on capturing Product visions into user-interfaces that are engaging, meaningful yet simple

* Oversees the design continuity across NFi's products, maintains design standards and documentation as appropriate

* Work with other teams to creatively solve end-user problems, think through early product concepts, and define next user research steps to vet emerging ideas

* Bring out the best in your UX team including mentoring, logically articulating the pro’s and con’s for a design on-the-fly.

* Serve as the point person to help prioritize the team’s overall tasks. Seek outside mentorship and consulting as necessary.

* Keep up-to-date with latest Web technologies and market trends. Adjust NFi's product design/UX direction and strategy as appropriate.

* Uphold a team culture that values your team members’ feedback and includes their thoughts effectively in the design process

* Collaborate with product teams to refine the product release process and to ensure that the end-user sees meaningful changes in each release cycle

* Other duties as the opportunity requires

 

Required Skills:

 

* 5+ years of significant expertise in the UX and design field (production and/or team lead)

* An intimate understanding of Web technologies and the social Web landscape

* All-star understanding of HTML, XHTML, and CSS

* Understanding of how mockups translate to code with an advanced understanding of cross-browser compatibility

* Previous experience designing, launching, deploying, and iterating upon large consumer-facing products, startup experience a plus

* Previous experience working with multiple teams, ability to translate design decisions to non-product teams, and a deep desire to understand business requirements

 

Good to have Skills:

* Familiarity with user research practices, user personas, and other UX design frameworks

* Familiarity with developing for mobile devices

* Understanding of Javascript/jQuery libraries

* Experience with source control (SVN, Git)

* Familiarity with design/front-end for emails/newsletters

* Experience with Drupal
