Modern technology has penetrated our everyday lives, and has become part and parcel of almost everything we do. Some of this technology is addressed at BarCampOrlando, a community building event which happens each year to bring together people from different backgrounds to share and learn from each other. This will be NFi's 3rd year participating and helping with the event.

Yesterday, there was another doterati event - this time a breakfast for showcasing creative online branding strategies. The event named, BrandFlakes: Online Creative Approaches was held at a hotel downtown. Great crowd of people and many new faces!
Ignite Orlando is a free local event often held during a weeknight. Ignite Orlando brings together artists, geeks, entrepreneurs, academics and others to network with a twist. “If you had five minutes to talk to Orlando on stage, what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.
Today's students are heavy social media users. Facebook, Twitter, and many others are part of their day to day. Employers know this, and are increasingly seeking out information on job candidates on social media sites. We've seen too many lost job opportunities, and jobs, due to posting stuff that would be great for their friends, but won't help in getting or keeping a job.
NFi Studios is one of the teams participating this Friday, in Relay For Life®, Downtown Orlando. This is NFi’s second year of involvement with ACS - and this Friday our theme will be Reality TV Shows. NFi will present, “Beauty and the Geek.”

Downtown is being set - up to get very busy and very crowded says, Downtown Development Board director, Thomas Chatman. Chatman projects that Orlando's Cinema (a one-of-a-kind, entertainment destination) will bring 500,000-600,000 people into the downtown area per year. "We're not just getting movies back downtown.
