ASAE Technology Conference 2008 Wrap Up

February 7th, 2008 | Posted by Elizabeth Baranik

Some of us on the NFi team just got back this past weekend from Washington D.C. where we attended the ASAE Technology Conference, highlighting remarkable technological breakthroughs, education, and networking for associations, specifically those in charge of the strategic direction of their association or association members passionate about technology.

As highlighted in a previous blog about this conference, NFi had a booth which is shown above in the exhibit hall, highlighting not only our services such as web development, internet marketing and so on, but the main reason us being at the conference was to highlight and inform associations on MemberFuse™, which provides social networking for associations. The response we received from attendees at the conference was extraordinary, as the conference general and educational sessions urged associations that the time is now to offer some type of social tool to their members.

Sterling Raphael, also was a content leader (speaker) for a technology lab, titled, “Association 2.0 – Creating Online Communities That Work, ” with John Gander, from the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE). As Sterling stated,

“The session was very successful with over 300 in attendance! Our session focused on the key success factors for associations to implement an online community. We also showed a demonstration of ACTE Interactive, which is ACTE’s online community for their members.”

In addition, Maddie Grant wrote a great blog regarding the session, titled “Severe Case of Social Networking Envy”. She is very involved in the association industry and has a interest in Social Networking as a tool for members. We were excited to establish a valuable relationship with her and we look forward to helping Maddie and her association in any way we can.

Not only did we have a booth and speak at the conference but also attended some of the other general sessions, technology labs, and networked with many associations in attendance. The ASAE Center team put together a very successful event so we say thank you and we look forward to the Annual Conference in August!
